Welcome to the Sailors Escape crew! As members of the crew, we are all involved in making the most out of our trip. In turn, we all get to enjoy going to beautiful beaches, great snorkeling sites, historic towns, and you might even learn more about sailing.
Boats: SV Ransom- A classic 49 ft, Hinckly monohull. By-La Sea- A 42 ft, Lagoon catamaran
Rooms: Rooms are double occupancy. You have three options:
1) Bring a roommate, 2) We can find you a roommate, 3) Pay extra for a single.
Bathrooms: Ransom- 2 shared bathrooms. By-La SEA- 1 en suite bathroom for every room
Usual day: Wake up early. Jump in the water if you like! Then have coffee and breakfast as we cruise to a new location, or 2, or 3 for the day. The locations are amazing. Some are quiet coves and some are cute towns. At the end of the trip for the day, we may have happy hour drinks and appetizers (no drinking until the last anchor drop!). In the evenings, we may stay on board or go ashore in the dinghy for meals and touring.
Work: Everyone is part of the crew! Guests will work with the captain and the first mate to move the boat, launch and hoist the dinghy, and cook and clean as needed. Upon first arrival to the harbor, it may be necessary to provision the boat with food and other essentials. Everyone is expected to contribute as best they can.
Fun: The goals of our trips are for everyone to have a good time. Whether it is for relaxation, adventure, exploring, learning, or socializing, we will make sure to do our best to meet your needs.
Weather: We chose to sail in the Caribbean for its beautiful, warm climate. Of course, there may be unpredictable sun, rain, wind, and seas.
Fun surprises: Sea life including dolphins, turtles, and rays, Beach BBQ, snorkeling with thousands of fish in crystal clear water, sun, stunning views, and perfect sailing wind.
Possible surprises: Boat malfunction, a lot of rain, clouds, no wind, too much wind, big waves. All of which are taken into consideration while planning our course.
This is an adventure vacation. It is what you make of it!
The boats generate their own electricity and water supplies. All crew are expected to use them wisely and help to conserve them.
